A Holistic Approach to Depression Bundle

This course is fully online. If you're unable to join us for a live online class, don't worry - you can watch the replay at your convenience!

A Holistic Approach to Depression is packaged as a bundle.  This is because anyone who signs up for the depression course before enrollment closes will receive not just the depression course ($500 value) but our prerequisite course ($350 value) as well at a heavily discounted rate of $550.

The prerequisite course is a requirement for all of our standalone classes (you can read more about this below).  This prerequisite will give you the context you need to fully grasp the advanced topics in our specialized classes, setting you up for success. Think of it as building a strong foundation before adding the specialized tools to your herbal toolkit.

By purchasing the A Holistic Approach to Depression class now, you’ll be able to get the prerequisite course and the depression course for $550 instead of $850.  You will also be able to enroll in future standalone classes without needing the prerequisite program, as you’ll already have taken it as part of the depression bundle.

A Holistic Approach to Depression Course Description

Depression manifests uniquely in each person and is shaped by their physical health, emotional landscape, and social environment. Our comprehensive course moves beyond simplistic explanations to explore depression's complex web of root causes and varied presentations. Through the lens of both modern science and traditional herbal wisdom, you'll develop a deep understanding of how inflammation, stress responses, social isolation, and environmental factors interweave to create individual depression patterns.
This journey takes you from historical perspectives on melancholia to cutting-edge neuroscience, while building practical skills in assessment and herbal support.

You'll learn to recognize depression's many faces – from subtle fatigue to profound emotional pain – and craft targeted protocols that address both symptoms and root causes.

This course also explores the therapeutic potential of psychedelic medicines in supporting depression, including the latest research on psilocybin, ketamine, and MDMA. Drawing from both clinical studies and decades of professional experience, Thomas shares insights into the mechanisms, applications, and integration of psychedelic therapies within a holistic treatment framework, with special attention to legal considerations and harm reduction approaches.

What to Expect

Whether you're a clinical herbalist seeking to deepen your practice, a mental health professional exploring herbal approaches, or someone navigating their own depression journey, this course offers both theoretical understanding and practical tools for meaningful change. Through a blend of recorded lectures, live discussions, and real-world case studies, you'll gain hands-on experience applying these concepts in clinical practice or in personal healing.
This intensive learning experience begins with essential prerequisite coursework designed to build your foundational knowledge. You'll have 6 weeks to complete these materials and pass a critical red flag assessment quiz before accessing the depression-specific content. Our live component includes dynamic discussion sessions, consisting of one prerequisite material discussion session in early January and six in-depth conversations on depression beginning in mid January.

For those seeking a deeper sensory connection with the herbs, we will offer an optional hands-on component: additional herbal experiencing sessions complete with an herbal exploration kit. These intimate gatherings focus on developing your sensory skills through guided tastings while exploring how different herbs affect our bodies and minds. A Note from Thomas

About Our Prerequisite Class

Our prerequisite course lays essential groundwork through three key elements: my practical philosophy of herbal medicine, a specific and comprehensive approach to building health, and clear guidelines on herbalists scope of practice.

Herbal medicine is deeply personal - every practitioner brings their unique perspective and understanding to this work. When we explore complex health challenges like depression, simply learning pattern recognition and corresponding herbal protocols isn't enough. You need to understand the philosophical framework behind these approaches.

By including my foundational perspective on health and illness, along with my distinct approach to building health (separate from disease prevention), I've created context to enrich your learning in all future classes. This deeper understanding allows you to engage more meaningfully with advanced topics and standalone courses, seeing not just what we do, but why and how we approach herbal medicine the way we do.

Looking forward to seeing you in class!
